Q: Who may sign up for a UF IT Certificate?
A: Any University of Florida faculty or staff member may participate in the UF-ITC program. Individual course providers may restrict enrollment in certain courses, but there will always be plenty of courses available to meet specific certificate requirements.Q: How much does it cost to enroll in this program?
A: Nothing! This is a free opportunity for the UF community to encourage IT training and recognize individuals for increasing their job skills.Q: My unit has some specific IT training goals. Can new certificates be designed to meet our needs?
A: Of course! To add new certificates or even a completely new track, contact Debora Herrera at cheyenne@ufl.edu, or call her at (352) 392-7249 ext. 289.Q: If I have more questions, whom may I contact?
A: Email Debora Herrera at cheyenne@ufl.edu, or call her at (352) 392-7249 ext. 289.
Q: I can't log in, where can I get help?
A: If you are having problems logging into your GatorLink account, contact the UF Help Desk at helpdesk@ufl.edu or (352) 392-HELP (4357).Q: Why aren't all the courses that I've completed being displayed?
A: Either you have not specified your certificate goal or the course provider has not uploaded your course completion into the UF-ITC database yet. You may also want to contact the course provider to check if there was a problem in recording your attendance or completion.Q: Why do I need to select elective categories?
A: While most courses fall within multiple elective categories, a completed course may only be used to meet one category requirement, and only for one certificate. Therefore you are asked to indicate which elective requirements your courses should be counted towards. This also assures that completed course that you are planning to use for a future certificate will not be applied to your current goal.Q: If a course is required by multiple certificates, do I have to take it over to complete those additional certificates?
A: No, courses that are specifically required only need to be taken once. For example, the UF Acceptable Use course is required by all UF IT certificates, but you only need to complete it once.Q: When will I receive my certificate?
A: Certificates are typically awarded once a semester; alternatively they can be sent via campus mail once the completion is finalized. To receive your certificate before the official award ceremony, contact Debora Herrera at cheyenne@ufl.edu, or call her at (352) 392-7249 ext. 289.
